Vintage to modern, pocket watch to sports watch....
Clear quotes, project updates and no surprises!
It's a traditional trade, now sprinkled with some technology and fit for the modern watch lover
Hi - I'm Adam Seaton. I've had a love of horology for many years and also been a casual collector for the last decade or so. As with many hobbyists, you tinker, poke, tinker some more and then disappear off down the rabbit hole that is movements, complications, artistry and precision engineering of the highest order. Over recent years I've been lucky to have time to turn my hobbyist passion into a career and now get to spend many great hours at the bench examining everything from a vintage non-runner, a modern mainstream service or something out of left field, like a pocket watch, stop watch or clock.
Horology learning is bottomless so every day is a school day - which I love. If you've something in mind - anything from a quick clean up, through full servicing, or a complete rust bucket restoration, then I'd love to hear about your project. Please drop a note via the contact form or WhatsApp and we can explore what you need.
One from my own collection - this Calibre 28 Omega circa 1942. I've owned it for many years but it's a little small for my wrist at 34mm, so time for a clean up and service and then my wife is going to take ownership and give it some well deserved wrist time.
This classic Longines dress watch carries the mark of King Hussain of Jordan. Apparently he gave them as gifts on foreign trips. The surprise for such a simple dress watch was the rather lovely L990.1 hiding inside. Longines is such an under-rated brand worthy of more love.
Firstly, drop us a note with your general requirements, service details or faults. If you can add a photo or two, that certainly helps. The more detail the better - make, model, serial numbers, year of manufacture, condition, problem symptoms and so on - all help us make the best initial assessment.
We may have a little back and forth dialogue, but our aim is to provide you with a sensible estimate at this stage.
If you'd like to proceed, simply send us your timepiece for full assessment. On receipt, we carry out an initial inspection. We'll provide you with a fixed price quotation for the agreed scope of works, and an estimate of timescales.
There is no obligation at this stage. If you decide to have the timepiece returned, then no problem. If you would like to proceed, we'll get you booked in.
We'll keep you updated on progress and any change to scope. For example, upon strip down, some additional parts may require replacement or repair. We'll discuss these with you and agree the next steps.
We'll share the full post service/repair report. You can pay easily via an online link, and then we'll get your timepiece shipped promptly back to you. Happy days!
Please drop a line in the contact form below if you cannot find an answer to your question.
It does depend on what is in the queue, what parts require order and the general magnitude of the work required. We aim to turnaround a general service in 1-2 weeks. When we have completed our initial assessment, we can fine tune our time estimate prior to your order confirmation.
No. It is a huge field of play. We are constantly expanding our knowledge and credentials to cover more brands and complications, but we simply don't know everything. Some specific combinations of high horology and high complication are going to be best served through your authorised dealer.
Most main stream brands and nearly all vintage pieces are well within our domain. However, we are not an authorised service centre for any particular brand and sometimes sourcing authentic OEM parts can be a challenge. Please let us have your details and we can assess quickly. Rest assured we have no desire or motivation to test our skills on your precious timepiece. If we can't be 100% sure of a great outcome, we'll be very happy to help you find the right alternative.
Our quotations are bespoke on every occasion as rarely are any two jobs the same. That said, a typical service of a running timepiece would range from £100-£400. Repair and servicing of a none-runner may shift that into the £200-£500 range.
We can, and have done so from time to time, but due to shipping constraints, these tend to be local only jobs. But please do share your inquiry, and if we can't assist, we'll point to you in the right direction.
Yes, we can and are very happy to. If it's just a battery change, then realistically you can get that done at most high street retailers probably quicker and cheaper than us. But if you're stuck or prefer the postal route, then we're very happy to oblige.
Like most watch fans, there is bit of a rotation and the n+1 rule applies. At the moment, the daily wear switches between a Tudor Black Bay 41mm on a bracelet and a birth year 1972 speedy on a strap when the going is not too tough. I also regularly wear my Seiko Prospex 'Arnie' as my beater, and another Seiko - the SNR041 titanium spring drive - is my go-to for the beach and wet suit. No doubt those will all change soon!
We are a postal / courier only service at this time, but can discuss drop off / pick up arrangements if needed.
